First Day ..

On the first day of work placement I arrived at 7:20 am. Since I arrived to Dubai Branch of Emirates Transport I asked about my supervisor office to meet him. Fisrt of all, my supervisor Hassan Al Obaidli the Head of Finance and Adminstration department asks me to introduce my self, then he introduce him self, talked about the company and It's departments. From the explaination which Mr. Hassan gave me I discover several things about this company. In the past I was think that the Emirates Transport is just a company for school buses, but now I recognize that It's more than that.

After that, he took me around the branch to introduce me to the general manager of Dubai branch Bader Al Attar, he welcomed me and wish me a good luck in my work experience in his company. Also, I met the coordinator of finance Ms. Aisha Al Shaibani. Then, I went to the HR department which I learned how to organize the files of the new employees such as new drivers, supervisors of buses and Mr. Ameen who is working in the HR department shows me how to do this. In this department I knew that the file must be organized by specific order.

Furthermore, I met with Ms. Najma Ahli the secretary of the general manager and I helped her in checking the presence and absence of employees and she shows me various seals that they use in the company and tell me the imporatnce of these seals. She tell me about something that happened because one of these seal, that one of the employees used one of these seals when the secretary were not at her office, then they interrogate him and fired him.

Moreover, Mr. Hassan asks me to surf through the site of the company and take a look on it. Finally, Mr. Hassan complete his explainations about the company and talk more about the centres which are in Emirates transport. At the end of the day my supervisor ask me about my first impression about the environment of the company.

In Emirates Transport I liked something which is that they choose specific drivers to work 3 hours in the company and they gave them bounce. Also, there are various things that I liked in this company. The most important thing that I liked is that all the employees there are willing to teach me and all of them are friendly and treat me fairly, I felt like I know them before.

Before we start our work placement, Ms. Sangita from the career centre came and did a presentation about the do's and dont's during the work placement, so we will be aware and prepare for this experience.

on the final day of working at college which was thursday, i received an e-mail from my work experience mentor Mr. Tridib about work placement details and procedures. First he asks us to make sure that all our details are correct. Then he explained what we should do in the first day and during week 1 of work placement. Set up a work plan for all the weeks and make an appointment with my supervisor in the company for the second week. Also, he asks each student to set up a blog and post at least once a week. Moreover, he provides us with some examples of questions that might help us in the first day of the work placement and during the work experience.
